Fall Layers
HEY HEY EVERYBODY!!! Long time no see!
I took a little hiatus this summer to get some new ideas and some fresh inspiration! It’s so important to take time for your personal health when you need to and to know your limits! BUT I’M BACK!
Today I’m going to briefly talk about layering up this fall. It’s getting colder (at least in Michigan that is) and I know every girl’s temptation is to give in to the sweatpants and hoodie or leggings and crewneck look all winter. Don’t get me wrong, these aren’t bad looks on days where you’re hanging at a coffee shop or just running errands. HOWEVER, if you’re looking for a low maintenance look that seems somewhat put together, try layering things you already own! I LOVE layering because you can make a variety of brand new outfits with different pieces in your closet (and I’m all about saving that cash!) Try pairing a form fitting zip-up with a looser fitting jean jacket (as pictured). A good rule of thumb is pairing something form fitting with something looser fitting so that your natural figure isn’t compromised. I always finish off the look with a plain pair of pants or dark denim so that I don’t distract from the layers and a hat that has fall colors (mustard yellow, olive green, dusty pink) to keep me warm and to add a pop of color.

More to come!!
Rain, Rain, Go Away
Be prepared for ANY weather in these amazing and fashionable Hunter boots! I wear these boots not only on rainy days like today, but even in the winter months when there’s snow on the ground. (For extra warmth during winter wear, you can purchase these boot socks!) I love the matte finish on these boots as opposed to their high-gloss option. Also, I recommend choosing an easy-to-pair color such as olive (pictured), black, grey, or blue. If you’re looking for a completely different style, check out Hunter’s short cut boots here!

Warm and Cool Tones
One trend that I am already loving this season is wearing a mixture of warm and cool tones. Not only does the color contrast really pop, but this style looks great on all skin tones! Here’s a tip, if you’re just starting to dabble with warm and cool tones, try wearing complimentary colors. (yellow + purple, orange + blue) and then work your way to pairing other tones! Also, don’t be afraid to mix a patterned top with
In this picture, I’m wearing two very distinct pieces but your warm and cool toned look could be as simple as different colored accessories with a solid color tee! If you have a favorite warm and cool tone look, comment down below!
ºPom Pom Off the Shoulder Top: The top that is linked is not the exact one pictured but is very similar (I bought mine at Marshalls!). The off the shoulder look is huge this season as well as fun pom poms that add the perfect detail to any outfit! My style tip would be to buy one size up on off-the-shoulder tops so that it won’t pop off your shoulders every time you move your arms!
There are other affordable tops like the one pictured that you can pick up from
ºMustard Colored Shorts: I recently picked these up from Loft and have fallen in love with the way that they fit! Not only are they super comfortable, but they are easily dressed up or down depending on what you pair them with. These shorts offer the perfect warm tone to pair with any cool color.

ºGladiator Sandals: The shoes that are linked are not the exact ones pictured, but are the same style and brand. I picked these sandals up from J.C. Penny two years ago and still haven’t run out of looks to pair them with. These shoes go great with a casual summer outfit, like the one pictured, or with a sundress!
On-The-Go
Now that it is officially summertime, it’s time to rethink our leggings and pullover on-the-go look (one of my personal favorites for cold months). It can be really hard for some women, especially mothers, to find that perfect balance of not looking like they are still in pajamas but also not looking like they are trying too hard. For this reason, I’ve decided to give you guys an example of a simple, everyday outfit that is easy to throw on but looks put together enough to run errands in all day. Remember that no matter WHAT you’re wearing, the most beautiful thing about you is what is on the INSIDE!
If you have a favorite on-the-go look, feel free to comment down below!
ºKeds Baseball Cap: I love this hat because it is affordable and the solid color matches with almost any outfit. I wear this one with a pony, as pictured, or with a low messy bun. If you’re looking for other options of solid colored hats, I would check out Nordstrom, H & M, or Target!
ºNike Women’s V-Neck: This shirt is great for a workout at the gym, for a quick run, or for a comfortable shirt to run errands in. It is lightweight and easy to pair with just about anything. If you’re looking for a different style t-shirt, Nike has a lot of great workout shirts out right now!
ºThin Black Belt: Really any brand will do for this accessory! This adds just a little bit of detail that really pulls the entire outfit together. You can pick one up for yourself at Old Navy or Target!
ºOld Navy Denim Shorts: Again, any brand of shorts will do the trick for this look. I suggest wearing a slightly longer pair than you would normally wear to a day at the beach simply because you will be bending and moving while loading and unloading your car all day and you should have the comfort of knowing that you’re covered! (Nobody wants to see that!!!) If you’re looking for a more bermuda style short, check out Gap or Maurices!
ºNike Free Run Flyknit: These are by far the most comfortable pair of tennis shoes that I have ever owned. I know that Nikes are a little bit more on the expensive side, but trust me, you will get plenty of use out of them! These are great for a training day at the gym or for a day that you will be on your feet for several hours.
